Other Details:
Hogan Brother's was opened at 405 Division Street in Northfield, Minnesota, in October of 1991, just before the infamous Halloween snowstorm, by Greg Heymans, who had just opened a tiny shop on the skyway in downtown St. Paul as "Brother Hogan's" a year and a half earlier. In 1993, Greg, along with his cousin, Jerry Heymans, opened similar cafes in downtown Winona, Minnesota, and Menomonie, Wisconsin, and in 1994 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. We named our restaurants the Acoustic Cafe. After seven years at 405 Division in Northfield, Hogan Brothers moved down the street to 415 Division, doubling the space allowing room for an in-house scratch bakery and the capacity to serve as many as 1000 customers a day, as we have for several Saint Olaf homecomings. Hogan Brother's specializes in hot hoagie sandwiches featuring our homemade honey-cracked wheat buns and propietary special sauce. Our soup and sandwich specials for $4.29 provide a healthy alternative to fast food at a comparable price. Along with five to six different soups daily, Hogan Brothers offers coffee and espresso from Alterra Roasters in Milwaukee, as well as Red Hook beer (the strong, not the 3.2, version). We also offer twelve flavors of ice cream and homemade cookies and muffins.
