Thom Pham grew up in the village of Qui Nhon, Vietnam working along side his grandmother Bo assisting her with her catering company. At the age of fourteen, Thom was brought to America through Lutheran Social Services and was adopted by a South Minneapolis family. He got a job working at a Vietnamese restaurant and worked there for many years until he saved enough money to open his first restaurant, ThanhDo. Located in St. Louis Park, ThanhDo was the perfect place for Thom to sharpen his skills and whet palettes with his fusion of classic Asian cuisine and Minnesota flavors.Yearning for the next level, four years later Thom risked it all and boldly opened Azia Restaurant. Located in a rough neighborhood, Thom watched as his restaurant changed the community surrounding and found great success. Within a year the Caterpillar Lounge opened and three years later Thom expanded into the old record shop next to Azia in order to build Anemoni Sushi & Oyster Bar; completing the Azia experience. Considered a Minneapolis favorite, Azia is where Asian spice meets Minnesota Nice.
