On April 1st, 2010 I began DeLeo Bros. Pizza to realize my grandfather Carley DeLeo’s dream. For my grandfather, growing up in a family of entrepreneurs can be trying, especially when it comes to carrying on the family business.While running a lumber company with his two brothers Mickey and Bonzo, as his father had also done, Carley realized he didn’t want to own a lumber company; he wanted to own a restaurant. He loved food and was well known for his big heart, big size, and big appetite for meatballs and spaghetti which he made for family reunions, church functions and holiday gatherings. Sadly, he passed away before the dream of serving his Italian dinners in his hometown of Port Townsend, WA could become a reality.In 2001 this Northwest native son of a preacher man met and married a Midwest farmers daughter. Calling the Twin Cities our home for more than 8 years the dream to cook up my family’s pizza and pasta for the people of Minnesota is now a reality.My joy is in bringing to your table our DeLeo family tradition of gathering with loved ones for fantastic selection of Italian Pastas, New York Style Pizza, Calzones, Grinders (hot hoagies), and our excessive use of Garlic.
