Jimmy John's sandwich shops have been making subs since the company was founded in Charleston, Illinois in 1983. The sandwich makers at the Ballas Road store speak the special Jimmy John's lingo, knowing exactly what to do whether a customer asks for a Plain Slim #1, which is a ham and cheese with no veggies and sauce, or the J.J. Gargantuan, an enormous monster of a sandwich piled with meat, cheese, veggies and dressing. There is a sandwich for every taste bud and the pickle, chips and drink to go along with them.

Jimmy John's even has an "unwich" for those avoiding carbs. This consists of sandwich ingredients wrapped in lettuce instead of bread. The store also offers catering and party platters for special events.
