Hannegan's Restaurant & Pub is right in the heart of historical Laclede's Landing. "The Landing" as the locals call it, was first settled in 1784 by Pierre Laclede. He named this little area St. Louis and the city grew from there. As people moved west away from the "Mighty Mississippi", Laclede's Landing was abandoned and most of the beautiful buildings were destroyed except for 9 blocks. A restoration took place in the 70’s and long before Hannegan's was born, along with shops and other restaurants. Hannegan's is housed in the old Witte Hardware building and was meticulously designed as a replica to the U. S. Senate Dining Room in D.C.
