Roy Damiens of Benton, MS was a struggling pig farmer in the early 9O’s. With the drop in the hog market, Roy's farm was on the verge of bankruptcy. Having cooked pork most of his life... after all it was readily accessible....He felt like he could cook and sell pork, for better profits than raising one and selling it to the market. In a financial crunch and wondering what to do, Roy hand built a mobile barbecue trailer that resembled a red tin barn. He couldn’t afford the proffesional signage on the unit, so he took old scrap pieces of barn wood and hand-painted the PIG SHACK name and food items on them.
