Worden's Market was established around 1883, as Missoula's first grocery store. Originally located near what is now the 100 block of West Front Street, Worden's has always been a downtown entity and is now in it's fifth location at 451 North Higgins. Worden's is one of only three or four businesses of it's age in Missoula that has been in continuous operation since their inception.Worden's Market was purchased by Tim and Exie France in 1981. In the course of it's subsequent expansion, the business has developed a reputation for it's eclectic and worldly selection of award-winning wines, beers, specialty foods and candies and has established a full service , award-winning deli operation. Worden's has retained it's original character and commitment to customer service in spite of it's growth.
