Provident Bank is one of New Jersey's oldest banks, dating back to 1839 when it first opened its doors. Into the 20th century, the bank helped many immigrants securely build a new foundation in the U.S. In 2004, it merged with First Savings Bank, and most recently it has acquired First Morris Bank.
