Horace and Sylvia lived in a small house my grandfather had built on South 9th Street, Lindenhurst, N.Y. Growing up as a child I remember their home always being filled with family, friends, Joy and Laughter. Some of my fondest memories of my Grandfather were his garden, the smoke house he made out of an old refrigerator, that he would smoke all the fish we would catch during the summer.My grandmother automatically made you feel welcome. She would greet anyone for the first time with a kiss and her trade mark “Hiya Hun”. They never had much money, but were rich in many ways.
