When Manganaro Foods first opened our doors in 1893, Manganaro was determined to bring the best Italian "grosseria " products to the thriving West Side of New York. It was vibrant time and place. People from all over the world swarmed through Manganaro's, many of them seeking our fresh cheeses, meats and ingredients to use in their traditional cooking at home. At the turn of the century Great Uncle James Manganaro began working in Manganaro Foods as a young boy, reveling in the variety and vitality of the City, and our little corner of it in particular. He knew even then that a wide selection of quality goods and knowledgeable, personal service were the keys to a successful, lasting business.
