About North Shore Yacht Club Founded in 1871, North Shore Yacht Club is The Club for Sailors on Manhasset Bay. Rich in tradition, NSYC members join because they love to sail and they love to be with other sailors. Since 1959, the club has been located on the north shore of Manhasset Bay in Port Washington. It is completely protected on three sides, providing one of the safest, best sheltered anchorages in the Bay. Yet, it is closer to the sound than any other anchorage or club in the area. NSYC prides itself on a membership that keeps current with the times while remembering the rich heritage of the Long Island sailor. Active cruising and racing committees provide in-season opportunities to participate in a variety of sailing activities. The large, paneled clubroom overlooks Manhasset Bay. A windowed wall opens to a deck where members can survey the fleet as they relax on comfortable chairs and lounges. The clubroom is a center for meetings, socializing and educational programs both on and off season. A complete kitchen and fireplace add convenience and charm to off-season events where sailors compare memories of summers past and hopes for summers to come.
