Carvel is known as the nations first ice cream retailer, a legacy that began in Westchester in 1934. Today, Carvel operates over 500 locations nationwide. Three of those are in New Rochelle. This Carvel is located in the Wykagyl Shopping Center, next to the US Post Office. Carvel serves a wide variety of frozen treats, from soft serve and hand dipped ice cream, to ice cream cakes, fruit smoothies, frozen coffee drinks and ice-cream novelties. It also offers hot coffee, lattes, cappuccino and espresso drinks.
