Manhattan Inn is a piano bar and restaurant brought to you by the owners of The Glasslands Gallery, Brooke Baxter and Rolyn Hu. Opened on November 4th, 2009, Manhattan Inn serves up a seasonal menu of eclectic bistro-style new American cuisine, a wide variety of mid to high end cocktails, local craft beers, and a selection of fine wines.Constructed almost entirely of recycled lumber and materials, the front space is a classic but quirky bar environment with subtle lighting and custom-made wooden booths & bar stools. This area expands to a grandiose sky-lit back dining room, complete with an ivory baby grand piano in the center of the room. Above the piano hangs a crystal chandelier, draped with a moss installation by artists, Cameron Michel and Vashti Windish. With custom woodwork and whimsical details throughout the space, the initial prohibition-era feel reveals many unexpected elements: re-purposed doorknobs as tap handles, school desks to rest drinks on and chat over, auditorium chairs for seating, and sugar jars amongst other glass objects as light fixtures.A talented roster of local pianists tickle the ivories during dinner every evening, as well as brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
