Nick's Gyros #1 was founded in 1971 by Nick Foradis. Its Mentor location opened in 2006. The restaurant's signatures Pitas include Nick's Gyro, which is served on hot pita bread  that wraps around  beef and lamb meat, lettuce, onion, tomatoes and creamy cucumber sauce. Other signature pitas are the Greek pita, fajita pita, chicken gyro and the jumbo gyro. Another popular menu item is the corned beef sandwich with one-half pound of lean corned beef on Swiss and rye. The restaurant also offers fresh salads,  fruit smoothies, burgers, hot sandwiches, starters and sides.
