Tri-County Electric Cooperative is a nonprofit electric cooperative that serves Texas residents and businesses from its district offices in Azle, Keller, Granbury and Seymour, Texas. It was created in 1939 to serve an area of Texas that was too isolated for major power companies to service. The very first section of electric lines it built was a 150-mile stretch that served more than 100 families. Tri-County Electric finds itself serving an increasingly dense population with a growing number of residential, commercial and industrial customers. It supplies power to the corporate campuses of Fidelity Investments and Sabre; several Home Depots, Wal-Marts and Lowes; a Corning Cable Systems plant; and two school districts.
