Welcome To The Cascade Dining Room At Timberline LodgeConstruction of Timberline Lodge took place from 1935 to 1937. It was dedicatedon September 28, 1937 by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who declared it,“a monument to the skill and faithful performance of workers on the rolls of theWorks Progress Administration - unique in all America.” The Lodge is the only20th century building of its size constructed and furnished entirely by hand withoriginal craft work in wood, wrought iron, textiles, watercolor, oil paint, linolium,mosaic and stained glass. Many of these materials can be seen from your table inthe Cascade Dining Room.It is this pioneering spirit of craftsmanship paired with a deep-rooted connectionto the environment and seasons that inspires Timberline’s culinary program.Timberline is at the center of Oregon’s bounty, surrounded by mountain streamsand a plentiful ocean teaming with fish, rolling fields of fresh and organic produce,locally raised beef and lamb; all tended by artisan producers with a common goal.Chef Jason Stoller Smith and Timberline’s talented culinary brigade share thisvision, and invites you to “Taste Oregon”.
