The King George Inn was built during the French and Indian War and general Indian uprising along the eastern frontier. Area directly to the rear was a drill staging field for regular and irregular citizen-soldiers of our American Revolution.This Pre-Revolutionary War crossroads tavern served not only as a way station between Easton and Reading--Philadelphia and the Allegheny Mountains, but also as a town hall, meeting house, courthouse, early church, news-center, and welcoming place for newcomers to the area.
