Other Details:

Rolling through Barrington on what was an abandoned railroad line is the East Bay Bike Path, a 14.5 mile, 10-foot wide asphalt trail that runs from Providence to Bristol. The path, with dividing lines, provides a comfortable and scenic off-road place for cyclists, pedestrians, joggers and roller-bladers to enjoy the fields, coves, marshes and more urban environments in the East Bay towns along Narragansett Bay. The bike path is open year round, but the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, which maintains the bike path, does not remove snow. Cross-country skiers then find it a haven. Access to the bike path is available in many places in Barrington, including Haines Memorial State Park, Veterans Memorial Park at West Street, and intersections of Bay Spring Avenue, Washington Road, Middle Highway, County Road, New Meadow Road and Sowams Road.
