Although it is part of a local chain, the dining experience at the Breakfast Nook II doesn't feel like it. At the eatery, located on Kingston Rd., the staff has been working together for quite some time, and they are welcoming and friendly, seeming to be having fun while working.
It is open daily for breakfast and lunch. It provides a hearty menu of dishes, some of which are breakfast classics, such as pancakes, waffles, eggs, omelettes, and French toast. Some dishes are more complex or are presented with a unique twist. For example, Bananas Foster is topped with toasted walnuts; and the Portabella Dream Omelette, has red peppers, Portabella mushrooms, spinach, and a mix of spices. The place offers specials regularly. "I'm all about using high quality ingredients," says manager and chef Paul Newman. He even goes so far as to use only imported linguica from Fall River, Mass., for the authentic flavor found in his Portuguese Breakfast.
