This shelter is operated by the League for Animal Protection of Huntington and houses dogs and cats. All of the animals are up to date on their rabies shots, and all are spayed or neutered and licensed before leaving the shelter. Located adjacent to the shelter is a dog-friendly park featuring a 24,000-square-foot fenced-in run.

The shelter is overseen by the town's Department of Public Safety.
