Ho CEO of Amperor, Inc Established in January 2000, Curnutt & Hafer, L.L.P was founded by attorneys Kelly J. Curnutt and Douglas R. Hafer. Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer began their legal career together as classmates at Southern Methodist University School of Law. Immediately upon graduating in 1993, both accepted positions in the Litigation Section of the Dallas Office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a large, internationally recognized law firm. In 1994, Mr. Pryor and Mr. Bruce left Gibson, Dunn to open a trial boutique firm, primarily representing Wal-Mart Stores, Inc in defense trial work throughout North Texas. Recognizing that employment with Pryor & Bruce would propel them into the courtroom and supercharge their learning curve much faster than if they stayed at Gibson, Dunn in a research capacity, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer accepted the only two coveted attorney offers extended by Pryor & Bruce. For three years, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer successfully managed the Pryor & Bruce trial docket of over 100 cases for Wal-Mart in the North Texas area. During this time, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer each tried at least twelve cases to jury verdict as lead counsel, took and defended at least 200 depositions each, and argued over 100 pre-trial motions in court. Through their experience at Pryor & Bruce, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer learned the business of civil trial law from the ground floor up, which included daily client communications and relationship building, liability and verdict exposure analysis, pretrial and trial strategies and techniques, and the art of persuasion with juries, opposing counsel, and judges. In 1997, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer joined the Litigation Section of the Dallas Office of Baker & McKenzie, the largest law firm in the world. In doing so, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer expanded their experience base into a vast array of commercial, tort, employment and insurance law disputes. As the two most senior Litigation Associates in the Dallas Office, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer each personally supervised and managed dozens of high-profile cases for a multitude of both domestic and international clients, ranging in value from several thousand to millions of dollars. Following a successful career as big firm lawyers, Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer pursued their shared goal of starting their own law firm by forming Curnutt & Hafer, L.L.P Located in Mr. Curnutt's hometown of Arlington, Texas, Curnutt & Hafer, L.L.P allowed Mr. Curnutt and Mr. Hafer to pursue personal goals, explore new professional challenges, and follow their dream of creating a new law firm.
