A culinary phenomenon since 1984, The Emerald has created some of the most imaginative dishes which continue to give great pleasure to many discerning customers and visitors to Austin,Texas.Marge Kinsella, originally from Aughadeffin, a small village in the West of Ireland near Knock Shrine, came to America in 1957. She met and married the love of her life, Paul, a wonderful, kind man, devoted husband and brilliant father. In 1978, they moved to Austin, Texas along with their four children and opened the Emerald to share the beauty and charm of Ireland by opening the Emerald. It is a recreation of a small Irish cottage, complete with Irish china. We feature an outstanding wine list as well as a full bar that includes our wonderful Irish Coffee made with, of course, genuine Irish whiskey or Irish Mist. We encourage special requests and would be delighted to prepare any special dietary meals for you.
