My story begins a long time ago during the Vietnam War when my family was separated by the war torn land. Trying to escape the horrors of war some of my brothers managed to make it to the United States were they landed in Hawaii in 1975. They were determined to make a living for themselves and the dream was born to open a family restaurant featuring traditional Vietnamese food. The only thing my father could talk about was how proud he was of his son’s making it to the US and that one day the family would be together and have a successful restaurant business in the United States. Through many struggles I managed to make it to a Refugee camp in 1987 and finally arrived in Hawaii in 1990 after a long 3 years in camp. Unfortunately I found that my loving family had many problems and decided to come to Virginia. Through hard work and determination I knew one day our family dream would come true. Some years later my brother Michael, my sister Natalie and God-Mother Dung made it to the US. My father could not travel do to illness. After many years of hard work the day finally came in June of 2006 when the family restaurant that had been a dream for so long became a reality. Unfortunately after a long illness my father passed away in December of 2007 but not before the dream of owning a family Vietnamese restaurant came true. It is very important for my family to stay true to the traditional Vietnamese cuisine and therefore we make our stocks home made daily and use only the freshest of ingredients. We use our true family recipe that have been handed down for generations.
