The Trapp Family Lodge is an Austrian-style resort with dozens of guesthouses and numerous villas set on 2,700 acres in Vermont. It has nearly 100 rooms and the resort offers cross-country and snowshoeing on miles of trails, as well as horse-drawn sleigh rides, skating and sledding parties. Other facilities include a fitness center, complete with an indoor pool, exercise room, sauna, and aerobic classes and massage therapy. The Trapp Family Lodge also has heated outdoor pools, clay tennis courts and croquet lawn. Guests may also enjoy afternoon tea and nightly musical entertainment. The Trapp family started welcoming guests to the lodge in the summer of 1950. The Trapp Family Lodge is still owned and operated by the Trapp family, the same family featured in the musical and movie The Sound of Music.
