The first Billy McHale's was founded in 1980 in South Seattle, Washington, USA. It's recipe of serving great American food, combined with quick service, in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere proved very successful. Over the following 14 years Billy McHale's had expanded to open seven more restaurants. By 2003, Kristy was the manager of the Bellingham Billy McHale's, when the opportunity presented itself to purchase this Bellingham restaurant. Owning and operating a restaurant had always been part of their master plan so they seized this opportunity. In 2004, Robert and Kristy Knopp realized this dream and have successfully continued the Billy McHale's tradition of delivering great food in a fun family-friendly atomsphere.
