You'll never see the ice cream truck delivering to Cold Stone Creamery and that's because Robin and her crew at the ice cream shop in Lakewood Towne Center make their own ice cream fresh every morning right in the shop. Cold Stone, a chain begun in 1988 in Tempe, Arizona, prides itself in serving "super premium" ice cream made to order. Want strawberry loaded with real fruit? You got it. Like M&Ms in your peanut butter ice cream? They'll mix it all on the big marble slab that gives the store its name. Cold Stone claims there are 11 million possible combinations of ice cream flavors and "mix-ins." The store also makes malts, shakes and smoothies and sells cakes, pies and cupcakes decorated to order. It caters parties and events and will make large cake quantities for banquets.
