Milwaukee Area Technical College is a two-year community-based technical college in the Midwest and operates four campuses, including one located in Oak Creek, Wis. Founded in 1912, the college serves more 57,000 students per year, the majority of whom attend part-time courses, including precollege education where students earn a high school diploma, prepare for college-level studies, gain English-language and occupational skills. The college has a full-time enrollment of more than 13,000 students who can earn technical diplomas and certificates in more than 200 fields or complete an associate s degree before transferring to a four-year college. Its technical programs include subjects, such as air conditioning, refrigeration and heating, auto collision repairing and finish, carpentry, dental assistance, electrical power distribution, nursing assistance and printing. Its associate degree programs include courses, such as accounting, animation, banking and financial services, culinary arts, electronic technology, hotel management, interior design, occupational therapy and real estate.
