Albany County Teachers Credit Union was founded in 1957 to service Albany County School District Teachers. In 1986, this entity merged with Gem City Credit Union, which serviced City of Laramie, Federal, Postal, and State employees to form Albany County Public Employees Federal Credit Union. In 1997, the employees of KOWB/KCGY Radio and Laramie Eye Clinic were adopted into the field of membership. In December, 2000, the credit union received a federal community charter and officially became ACPE Federal Credit Union, currently having 4,400 members with assets over $38 million and still growing. Membership is now open to anyone living, working, worshipping or volunteering in Albany or Carbon County, WY. The main office is located at 2835 Grand Avenue in Laramie, Wyoming.
