Red 88 opened in the space formerly occupied by Thai2K Restaurant by the owners of KetMoRee (directly across G Street) in September, 2009, after they were issued a liquor license by the City of Davis.
Red 88 was remodeled with an eye-catching red-and-black theme and features appetizers (spicy popcorn chicken and pork dumplings, among other choices), noodle soups (Thai boat noodle soup), noodle dishes (chicken chow mein, in addition to dozens more) and varied vegetarian entrees. The full bar features happy hour from 3pm to 6pm daily. There are laptop outlets along with quiet areas for studying.
