The Haunted Head Saloon is located along North Tremont Street in downtown Oceanside. While the outside looks like some storybook haunted house, the interior is set up to resemble a pirate ship, complete with a plank and captain's quarters. Skeletons and caged dummies hang from the ceiling of this dark, atmospheric bar, with bartenders dressed up as pirates at least once a week. The beer selection is vast and there is plenty of seating inside, with loud rock music playing and a young crowd that begins to grow around dusk.  Credit cards are accepted and the bar is open until 2am every day.  Free parking is available outside.
