Presently under renovation, Bennedito's has been in Groton since 1988. Owner Rick Sager only makes grinders and all the practice must have paid off, because The Day voted his sandwiches best in the region. Customers have their pick of classics such tuna fish or salami and can grab a bag of chips or a can of soda for $1. Bennedito's does pick up and delivers from 11am - 1pm. Inside, there is an impressive collection of bottles on display, including a giant bottle of Crown Royal and a ceramic model of the Titanic. Sager used to have customers trade their unique bottles for sandwiches, but has since run out of display space.
