In 1946, the Pompeii Permanent Building Association opened its doors one evening a week in an old venerable Baltimore City neighborhood called Highlandtown. In 1980, with its new name now Severn Savings Bank, the bank relocated its headquarters to Annapolis, MD and began a fulltime operation.

Eventually, Severn evolved from a Federal Home Loan Bank to a Federal Stock Savings Bank, with deposits insured by the Maryland Savings Share Insurance Corporation.

This Severn Bank offers certificates of deposit, retirement accounts, personal checking accounts and commercial checking accounts, among other services.
