Since 1994, Cabernet Franc and Syrah have been the predominant grapes grown on the 11 acres of vines at Schneider Vineyards in Mattituck. Owner Bruce Schneider, who comes from a family of wine importers, also maintained a plot of vines on Roanoke Avenue in Riverhead until he sold the property in 2007. Schneider's Cabernet Franc consistently receives rave reviews.
