Young Israel of West Hempstead began in the mid-1950s as a small minyan at the recently formed Hebrew Academy of Nassau County and today has grown to nearly 700 families. The Orthodox synagogue holds services throughout the week, classes and ongoing lecture series. It also has an active Sisterhood and youth program.
