This homey sit-down Italian restaurant has cornered the market on unpretentious neighborhood atmosphere. The pizza sports rich homemade sauce, with a handcrafted, "not too thin, not too thick" chewy crust that satisfies almost everyone. Although pizza is the main draw, Roberto's is just as well known for its kid-friendly (also loved by adults) classic iceberg lettuce salads with homemade dressing and grated mozzarella, signature cheesy bread and homemade lasagna.  Other pasta specials are available on weeknights, and the hearty Italian sandwiches round out the menu. There's no delivery here, but you can buy the sauces, salad dressings and even pizza dough if you want a short cut to good food at home. Reasonably-priced wine and beer are available. Kris and John Robbins have owned Roberto's for 22 years, fine-tuning their recipes and continuing to make everything from scratch, even grating their own cheese.
